It is amusing these days, stopping at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, to see a bunch of grizzled, dusty, leather-clad bikers all pull cell phones out from their packs. Travelling on a scoot with electronic gear, including cell phones, PDA’s, laptops and camera gear is becoming common. Such equipment can be very fragile, thus posing some unique problems when travelling, especially on a Harley where the vibrations are rather unfriendly to delicate equipment.

The HogWired monthly column will contain various tips, suggestions, stories and irreverent humour and will attempt to address the challenges faced by the "Wired Rider". Please feel free to send in your "wired" tips or stories. Every month I’ll pick from the best of the submissions and include them in the column…so email me with your best!

HogWired is being published in a number of HOG Chapter newsletters and in the Harley Rendezvous paper.  Hopefully will also be picked up by a large bike magazine in the near future!
