| These
are photos of some of the wildlife on Roatan. Not including us, of course. |

![]() These white-faced monkeys are all over Fantasy Island. Very cute, very destructive. |
![]() These iguanas are all over too, this one was about 3 1/3 feet long. Big boy! |
![]() These are small cat-sized rodents. I can't remember what the locals called them, but I think they are hutias, or are related to hutias. After hearing them scold the peacocks we started calling them piglets. They are very shy, and so cute! |
![]() We had peacock parties outside our room every night. This night there were 3 males and this female. Beautiful birds. |
![]() The monkeys go through the trash and drink out of the beer bottles and cocktail cups. |
![]() The peacocks were lovely. |
![]() These three images are my favorites from Andrzej's collection. This is one of the resort's iguanas. |
![]() This is a shot from when Andrzej went diving with caribbean reef sharks. There were between 12 and 15 sharks. |
![]() This is a green moray eel that is about 6 feet long. The underwater photos were taken with a Sony T-1 camera. |
![]() We went to Anthony's Key for the Dolphin Encounter. This is Maurey, our dolphin for the encounter. She was fantastic! |
![]() If you go to Roatan you MUST do the encounter at Anthony's Key. It's worth every penny. After our introduction we snorkeled with 19 bottlenose dolphins for about 45 minutes. It was the experience of a lifetime. |
![]() Maurey is a sweetheart. She weighs 250 pounds and is SO FAST! Dolphins can swim 25 miles an hour. |
![]() The little piglets were everywhere |
![]() There are tons of bats at Fantasy Island. Outside one of the beachfront rooms is a hummingbird feeder that the bats frequent in the evenings. There were probably 50 bats at a time flying in and out of the feeder, and neither our presence nor the constant flash of the camera bothered them. I stood about 2 feet away from the feeder for several minutes with bats flying around my head close enough for me to feel the wind from their wings in my face and not one of them ever touched me. |
